DIY Accent Wall

Materials:

1x2 Premium Boards

1 1/2” Brad Nails

Fast Dry Caulk

Paint color of choice

Tools:

Miter Saw

Brad Nailer

Speed Square

I started by painting the wall the color I chose for this project. I used a paint and primer in one and did 2 coats of paint.

Next it was time to plan out my design! DIY Huntress shared an amazing hack on how to create a design for your accent wall. Using your phone take a photo of the wall, and then using the draw feature you can place stright lines to visualize a design.

Once I had my design mapped out I began making my cuts on my miter saw. I did one board at a time to ensure it was where I wanted and I often times had to make a few cuts to get just the right measurement. Every board was either a 45-degree or 90-degree cut.

I attached my boards to the wall using my brad nailer and ensured they were aligned properly using my speed square.

Next I made sure to fill all the nail holes and seams with some fast drying caulk and then gave those spots a light sanding.

After that it was time for one final coat of paint!

And there you have a stunning DIY accent wall!
