DIY Christmas Trees
Materials:
Plywood (thickness of your choice, I used 3/4 inch)
Dap Rapid Fuse Glue
Stain or Paint
Tools:
Table Saw
Jig Saw or Band Saw
Sand Paper
I started by finding an image of a tree I liked on Google, printed and cut that out (in two sizes) to use as a template for my trees.
I then placed these on my plywood to figure out what sizes to cut my plywood.
I took my sheet of plywood over to my table saw and made my cuts which gave me several rectagle pieces.
After I had all my pieces cut to size I traced the cut out paper tree onto a piece of plywood. From there you can cut our all your trees with your jig saw or band saw!
*Tip: After you cut once tree out of plywood, use that to trace the rest of the trees, it is much easier that the paper!
I also wanted to make some regular triangle trees. For those I marked the center of my pieces of plywood and used a straight edge to draw a line from the center to the corner. These were extremely easy to cut out.
I wanted to add some bases (trunks) to these trees to keep them from tipping over. I used my left over plywood to cut small square pieces and glued those on the bottom of each tree.
Once all the trees were assembled, I gave everything a light sand. Then you can move onto staining or painting!
There you have a great addition to your holiday decor!
